VIDYAKALPAKA Scholarship program, initially to concentrate in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Districts of Karnataka state, as arranging due diligence of applicant students is quite simpler and almost accurate due to small geographical area of operation.
VIDYAKALPAKA Scholarship program functions on a digital platform. The medium of application &communication is through e-mail & Whatsapp group only. The funds are disbursed in electronic NEFT mode from banks.
VIDYAKALPAKA team functions through a consultative committee of members, who are Educationists, Doctors and Chartered Accountants, who meet regularly to oversee the progress.
After identifying aspirants for scholarships for each academic year, by way of inviting applications, due diligence exercise is conducted by detailed verification. The entire cost of college fees and in deserving cases cost of hostel fees, and reasonable stipend to meet traveling expenses on annual basis is ascertained by consultative committee.
After arriving at value of scholarship each student needs, the donors from GSB Community, who are pre empanelled with the VIDYAKALPAKA, are approached with details of students. Upon recommendation of consultative committee the scholarship value of the needy student is transferred to bank Account of the student directly by way of NEFT, from bank Account of donors.
This entire exercise is completely transparent and no money of whatsoever, is received or retained by VIDYAKALPAKA nor disbursed by it. It merely ensures needy students get the funds to meet cost of their education from donors directly. Entire team of VIDYAKALPAKA works on honorary basis without seeking any financial favours nor reimbursement of any cost of expenses (if any) incurred by them.
The academic year 2017-18 is First year for VIDYAKALPAKA.
From 1st P.U.C to Post graduation (excluding medical and engineering), with 75% pass marks and family aggregate income below Rs. 2,00,000/- per annum are considered for eligibility to apply for the academic year 2017-18.
As a social security measure, Health Insurance Policy of Rs. 1,00,000/- each, for the parents of the scholarship beneficiaries is made, to protect them from unforeseen expenditure on health related matters if any. For scholarship beneficiaries studying in P.U.C, one day orientation program will be conducted in a year at leading Educational Institution, whereas for Degree & post graduate students, an annual Camp of one week will be held at prestigious Institution imparting soft skill and career guidance training. This exercise will instill confidence and creativity among beneficiary, when they come out of the colleges after graduation and makes a overall difference compared to others.
Besides efforts will be made to promote reading and writing in konkni among students by way of arranging competition in writing short stories, poems and publishing price winning entries in konkni news papers.
The VIDYAKALPAKA is formed with an intention to ensure that none of the deserving GSB student is deprived of higher education for want of financial assistance, and to instill confidence among them that entire GSB SAMAJ is united in taking care of the needy student and to move towards overall prosperity of the community by an inclusive growth model, which the younger generation feel proud of being a GSB.
